Hayter`s print workshop in Paris in 1931 and during the 1930`s worked alongside influential artists of the day. In 1935 he arrived back in England and set up an etching studio in Hammersmith where he remained until his death. During this time Trevelyan became head of the etching department at the Royal College of Art and was himself a highly influential teacher of such students as David Hockney, etc
