Roman, Romano-British, Bronze brooches (6), late 1st-early 2nd century, including dolphin (2); umbonate disc with blue enamel and pin; fantail trumpet derivative with enamelled leg (cf. Hattatt 988); sandal; leopard with enamelled spots along the body and moulded head (cf. Hattatt 1196); together with small bronze finger rings (2), first with circular bezel set with glass stone, second with zoomorphic head as bezel [9]. A vintage 24ct yellow gold brooch set with 3 large yellow topaz stones and small ruby cabochons. A bespoke made brooch with with central octagon cut stone surrounded by pierced gold of foliate design set with 6 small ruby cabochons. Flanked by 2 round cut stones (approx. 6mm diameter) set in a scallop shell shaped setting. Brooch not hallmarked but tests as 24ct gold. Safety chain tests as 14ct. Approx. 4.8cm long and weighs 11.3g.
