A lady’s enamelled 18ct gold wristwatch, the gold circular dial with pink enamelled surround in the form of a life-buoy ‘HMS Vanguard’, the case inscribed ‘HKE from RS, 24th June 1911 together with a 15ct gold ‘Brittanic’ expanding link bracelet, contained in a fitted ‘Asprey’ case stamped with initials ‘HKE’ together with the visiting card of Mr Robert Stone handwritten in ink with ‘In remembrance of a Happy and glorious Day, the 24th June 1911 and with every good wish from............for Christmas and the New Year, Xmas 1911’ * H.M.S Vanguard was a Vincent-class battleship developed during the Anglo-German naval race. As part of the First Battle squadron at Scapa Flow she fought in the Battle of Jutland and remained unscathed with no loss of life. On Monday 9th July 1917 at Scapa Flow an accidental explosion sank the ship instantly killing 843 crew. This remains one of the greatest accidental losses of the Royal Navy. See illustration page 21

A Victorian lapis lazuli and diamond cross pendant, dated 1880, with rose-cut diamond collars at the intersections and rose-cut single stone suspension to a lapis lazuli ball and lapis lazuli and rose-cut diamond three stone loop, the reverse with a gold locket frame engraved ‘Constance Westminster Dec. 19 1880’, overall length 9.0cm. Constance Westminster was the first wife of the Duke of Westminster, and she died on 19 December 1880.
