[VICTORIA]: (1819-1901) Queen of the United Kingdom Great Britain & Ireland 1837-1901. A pair of large, attractive oblong folio documents, being a Letters Patent, partially printed on vellum and dated 14th May 1869. Issued to George Tomlinson Bousfield for 'an Invention for Improvements in Apparatus for lifting building blocks of stone concrete or other material and for disengaging such blocks from the lifting Apparatus...[which]...has been communicated from abroad by Darnton Hutton of Beverwyk in....Holland', the larger document headed Victoria by the Grace of God in large letters and both ornately engraved with the Royal Arms and emblematic and figural vignettes at the head, and with scrolled foliated borders to the sides. The two are neatly tied together and accompanied by a large and elaborate mustard wax seal (6 inches in diameter) bearing an impression of the young Queen on her throne flanked by two ladies on one side and on the other side an impression of the Queen riding her horse, contained in the original round tin box and attached to the base of the document with the original braided cotton cords. Signed Christmas greetings card, the white oblong 8vo stiff folding card featuring an amusing colour photograph to the inside of Prince Charles seated outdoors in a full length pose on a stone garden seat, with his sons Prince William and Prince Harry standing either side behind large stone garden urns. Signed (‘from Charles’) in bold black fountain pen ink beneath a printed greeting, further adding the words ‘To you both - ‘ in his hand.
