Lester Award: The Jockeys’ Association of Great Britain Flat Race Jockey of the Year Award presented to Pat Eddery in 1991, in the form of a Philip Blacker bronze sculpture of a jockey, signed with initials and dated ’91, golden patina, set on a black stone plinth set with plaque with presentation inscription, height 36.5cm., good condition This was only the second year of the Lesters, the annual ceremony where Flat and National Hunt jockeys are recognised for their achievements, an event named in honour of the legendary jockey Lester Piggott. Pat Eddery won in the inaugural year of 1990 and again in 1991 as Best Flat Race Jockey.
