An early 19th Century English Fire Gilt cased Travelling Watch Case, in Carriage Timepiece form, the movement signed Jno Jardin, London No 1137, the gilt verge movement with pierced and engraved cock and blued steel screws with large Diamond end stone and plain pillars, with signed dust cover, to a Roman Enamel dial (hairlines) with outside minute track and blued steel spade hands, to a case with swing carry handle, mounted to an engraved panel depicting a pheasants amongst acanthus leaf and lattice work decoration, over four outset reeded three quarter columns with further engraved side panels and mask, behind a single glazed door with sprung clasp to the base and hinged back panel, enclosing shuttered winding square and regulation dial, on a spreading plinth base and raised on four flared feet, height 4 ¼”
A fine mid 19th Century Mahogany cased 56-hour Marine Chronometer, with power reserve indication, John Poole, Maker to the Admiralty, 57 Fenchurch Street, London, 4696, the three part Mahogany Box with external brass handles and glazed upper section wit h hinged lid, enclosing a brass bowl and gimballed suspension, together with its original sprung ratcheted key, to a screw down glazed bezel enclosing a three and 3 ¾” silvered dial with Roman numerals and outside minute track enclosing “up/down” power reserve subsidiary and further subsidiary seconds with gilt spade hands, and further signed for the Gold Medal Paris 1867, and further prize medals London 1862 and Paris 1855, spotted brass full plate movement, with four fined pillars and fuse with chain and maintaining power, “Harrison” spring detant escapement, and diamond end stone, with free sprung blued steel helical balance spring, and numbered 4696 throughout, the case bearing an ivory plaque for the Ships Chandler “J Parkes & Sons, Liverpool”, and further to a paper label inside the glazed mid section for “John Parkes & Sons, Liverpool” stating “Cleaned etc July 1942”, width 7” square
