An Early 20th Century Russian Silver Gilt and Blue Enamel Rectangular Cigarette Box, maker unidentified, St Petersburg, stamped 88 standard, the whole with guilloche enamel, within white enamel borders and with pink stone oval cabochon thumb piece, 3.75ins x 2.75ins x .625ins, gross weight 4.9ozs Condition - Areas of cellulose spray to the lid and to sides suggesting restoration, the extend of which cannot be determined. The exterior of gilding with some light wear. Catch and hinge work well.
* A stone Ushabti figure, of sarcophagus form with hieroglyphs to the body, Ancient Egyptian style, h.13cm, together with four other Egyptian New Kingdom style figures. (5)Condition report: We would suggest that these are in the New Kingdom style and are probably late 19th / early 20th century examples.
* Two hunter burial stones, each carved with a face and with further incised decoration to the body, Dogon People, Mali, 23 and 18cm, together with a Nigerian stone carving, 19th century. (3)Accompanying this lot is a reference slip regarding the burial stones dated 4/11/73, together with three black and white photographs of the burial stones, each hand written verso property of Fabrizzio Carola and one photo' of the Nigerian stone.
