An antique gem set pendant, the openwork lozenge-shaped panel of scrolled design, centred with a cluster of oval mixed-cut rubies/pink sapphires and a pink stone in pinched collet and foiled closed-back settings, spaced by similarly set table-cut diamonds, gold mounted, with later brooch fittings, together with a Bohemian garnet cluster locket pendant, (one stone deficient), both pendant lengths 4.3cm (2)First pendant only: It is difficult to test the upper pink stone due to the height of setting, and this stone is likely to be a later replacement. The foil backing to this stone has whiteish discolouration and the stone has chips/nicks and scuffs. The remaining pink stones test as sapphires/rubies and are foil-backed to enhance the colour. These stones contain fracture, fissure and mineral inclusions, such as rutile 'silk'. Some of the fractures/fissures are surface-reaching. These stones have slightly variable colour, with possible discolouration to the foil backing, and all have chips, fractures, scuffs and nicks, commensurate for regular use. The diamonds have a typically greyish, fractured and chipped appearance, with discolouration to the foil backing. The mount has been adapted with later brooch fittings of a different hue and the pendant loop isn't soldered. The mount has considerable wear, with thinning and splits to the edges of the settings and scuffs, nicks and chips throughout. The brooch pin is currently functioning. Metal standard is untested. An Edwardian amethyst single stone brooch, the cushion-shaped mixed-cut amethyst collet set within an openwork mount with scrolled border, 9ct gold mounted, hallmarked for Birmingham 1908, together with a red paste cabochon and half pearl cluster brooch, (half pearls untested for origin), brooch lengths 3.35cm and 3.25cm respectively (2)Amethyst brooch: Scuffs, nicks and small chips to amethyst, which contains pale fracture and 'tiger stripe' inclusions, measuring approx. 19.2mm length x 14.4mm width x 9.9mm depth. The mount has general wear and patchy staining, with fine splits to the edges of the collet setting and scattered small holes/splits to the hollow scrolled border and mount, with possible small solder repairs. The back of the mount also has shallow dings and dents and the safety clasp is mis-shapen, but the pin is functioning. Hallmarks have patchy wear, maker's mark is '?.A'. Gross weight approx. 7.6gm. Cluster brooch: General wear throughout. Chips and scuffs to paste cabochon, which has a foiled backing, and fractures/chips to some of the half pearls. Pin is functioning. The mount is not marked and metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 9.4gm.

Some of the fractures are surface-reaching and both of the outer diamonds have small chips. One of these diamonds has an irregular outline due to a chip. The largest diamonds weigh approximately 0.60ct each, measuring approximately 5.5mm diameter x 3.4mm depth and 5.6mm diameter x 3.2mm depth respectively. A Victorian diamond set serpent ring, the coiled serpent with pear-shaped old-cut diamond head and red stone eyes, later extended, with partial interior inscription, hallmarked for London 1877, diamond weight approximately 0.50ct, ring size approximately Y to ZThe diamond is bright and lively, with some facet edge abrasion, estimated I to J colour and SI1 to SI2 clarity, assessed mounted. Diamond dimensions approx. 6.9mm length x 4.4mm width x 3mm depth. The red stones have small chips and surface wear and are possibly rubies, but are too small to test. The mount has been later extended with a large section added to the coiled hoop. This interrupts the inscription to the interior of the hoop, which reads possibly 'Presented to ?? ... by the customers of the LION HOTEL??' The mount has general surface wear, scuffs and chips, with solder at the junctions of the later added section, which is of a slightly different hue. There is a fine seam/split to the interior, near to the marks. Hallmarks are clearly struck, the maker's mark is possibly 'HSS'. Width of band 1.6cm at head, 1.04cm at back. Gross weight approx. 13.6gm.

A sapphire and diamond three stone ring, the oval mixed-cut sapphire claw set between two old brilliant-cut diamonds, two colour precious metal mounted, stamped '18CT & PLAT', total diamond weight approximately 0.35ct, ring size L½The sapphire has a light to mid blue hue with good transparency, a fracture/chip to the pavilion and scuffs, chips and nicks to facet edges, measuring approximately 8mm length x 5mm width x 2.8mm depth. One of the diamonds has a larger culet facet than the other and both stones have nicks and small chips to the girdle, with a fairly lively appearance. Estimated SI1 to P1 clarity and I to J colour, assessed mounted. The mount has wear to the sides and tips of the claws, to the sides of the shank and solder joins to the shank, suggesting that the back of the shank may be later replaced. The shoulders have a subtle white metal overlay. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 2.7gm.

An Arts and Crafts style vari gem-set fringe necklace, designed as a trio of oval drops suspended from harebell-shaped panels, spaced by chain-link swags and surmounted by wirework and bead panels, collet set with circular, oval and cushion-shaped mixed-cut gemstones in shades of blue, pink, purple and yellow, to include sapphire and citrine, on a trace-link back chain, length 46cmThe largest drop is a blue sapphire, measuring approx. 10.5mm length x 6.3mm width x 3.9mm depth, with a light purplish-blue hue and containing faint rutile inclusions and colour zoning. The yellow drops either side are citrines. The central cushion-shaped yellow stone is possibly a zircon, with a strong doubling effect to the back facets, and the smaller blue, purple and pink stones are too small to test but some are possibly spinels and sapphires. All stones have slightly variable hues and surface wear, scuffs and nicks throughout, occasional stones with small chips. The settings and panels have general surface wear and dark solder joins/repairs. One of the settings is split, probably at the junction of a previous solder join. The chain and swags also have general surface wear and some thinning between links, occasional links with dark solder repairs. The clasp is currently functioning. The mounts are unmarked and appear to be gold but are untested as such. Gross weight approx. 10gm. Width of fringe/swag section 10.5cm, total length of central drop 3.65cm.
