A stone sculpture of a head of Buddha in the Longmen style China, Northern Wei dynasty, 4th - 6th century . In the style of the Longmen caves sculptures in Luoyang, Henan province, this sculpture shows the elongated face and the pointed chin consistent with the iconography of the time and place. A dark stone Buddhist theme base Northern India, Pala period, 11th-12th century. Lavic stone architectural element adorned with eight columned niches inside which are four of the five transcendent Buddhas, positioned specularly to a central axis. In the middle are two Vairocana, both in the padmasana position and whose hands are performing the dharmacakrapravartanamudra, symbolizing the turning of the wheel of the Dharma. They are flanked by Akshobhya, Amitabha and Ratnasambhava, while a second Amitabha and another Vairocana are depicted on the sides of the item. Base and upper section decorated with geometrical patterns. Height of the base: 28 cm.. Cm 62,00 x 23,50 x 15,00.
