The Paintings of Russell Drysdale, first edition, limited to 1000 copies, signed by Drysdale, Sydney: Ure Smith, [1951], bearing bookplate of Richard Smart [a director at Arthur Tooth & Sons Gallery, the bookplate designed by Reynolds Stone], featuring corner-mounted card in two parts, inscribed with ink sketch by Drysdale, 'The Man from Snowy River, I really don't believe in this sort of thing but knowing that you hold the same views I can't resist this - a Merry Xmas to you both from Tass D.', followed beneath by a later ink drawing & inscription by Drysdale, again depicting The Man from Snowy River, 'Dear Dick, I think he took up residence on this log about 1957 - but I do know he's been there ever since. Alan Reynolds Stone, CBE, RDI (1909-1979). Reynolds Stone Engravings, first edition, London: John Murray, 1977, hardback with dust-jacket, housing four autograph letters signed by the artist to Richard Smart [a director at Arthur Tooth & Sons Gallery], commissioning the design of his personal bookplate (included on front pastedown). The first letter is dated 11 June 1946, the day on which the Post Office issued the 3D Victory stamp designed by Stone. 'Dear Sir, I should very much like to do your bookplate...For a more recent example of my work may I draw your attention to the 3D (not 2 1/2D) stamp issued today. Yours sincerely, Reynolds Stone'. In the following three letters, dated 11, 14 & 17 March 1947, Stone apologises for the delay, discusses the design, its eventual printing, and cost. 'Dear Mr Smart, I think you are right to demand a slightly more defined flourish to the t.' 'Did we ever say anything about my fee? I charge now £10-10-0 for a bookplate of this kind, but in view of the time I have kept you waiting I suggest £8-8-0 would be fairer!' Each piece of correspondence is on Bracken Cottage letterhead. The book also includes a loosely-inserted publisher's advertisement

An Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring, the central rectangular emerald cut cornflower blue sapphire weighing 5.82 carats (measuring 9.6mm x 8.1mm x 6.7mm), with round brilliant cut diamonds set to stepped shoulders, all set in platinum to a plain polished shank, ring size N, weight 6.5gms, with accompanying report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, report no. 21997, stating that the carat weight is 5.82 carats, that the stone is a natural sapphire, of Sri Lankan origin, shows no evidence of heat treatment. Condition Report: The central sapphire is in good order, no cracks, chips or losses. Minimum scratching and wear to the facets and facet edges. There is a surface reaching inclusion to one of the canted corners, just below the girdle. The claws are in good order, minimal wear, stone secure. All diamonds are present and in good order, no cracks, chips or losses. All diamonds appear secure. Setting shows dome scratching, general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Shank shows some wear and tear commensurate with age and use,  and signs of possible resizing, but no splitting or repair. Each diamond weighs an estimated 0.02cts, total diamond weight 0.20cts.

A pearl, hematite, amethyst and rose quartz necklace, designed as a single row of button pearls, each approximately 7.5mm wide, interspersed by carved amethysts beads, polished rose quartz and hematite beads and gold coloured spacers, with a spherical gold coloured clasp, tongue stamped '750', 67.5cm longCR: The carved amethyst beads are in good order - each show one of two small chips, visible under 10x, but are not obvious to the naked eye. There are internal fractures as expected in natural amethyst, some which reach the surface or come close.
