A FINE EARLY 19TH-CENTURY NAPOLEONIC FRENCH PRISONER-OF-WAR BONE ALLEGORICAL CALVARY ALTAR SCENE, the crucifix decorated with French and Christian symbols including a cockerel, chalice, stone mason’s tools, lantern, spear, sponge on spear, ladder, monstrance, pricket candles etc., the cross flanked by carved depictions of the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene, finished in polychrome and mounted in a glazed strawwork-lined wooden case with silk curtains to front -- 10¼ x 7½in. (26 x 19cm.)

LIVERPOOL, NO.262, CIRCA 1919, the 4in. silvered dial signed and numbered as per title, up/down and subsidiary second dials, blued spade hands, Earnshaw escapement with bi-metallic balance, steel helical balance, jewelled locking stone, stamped ‘10824’ on back plate with counter stamp inside bowl, gimbal-mounted within three-tier mahogany box with numbered ivorine maker’s plate to middle section, approximately -- 7in. (18cm.) square., The movements for Ray & Co. chronometers were provided by Mercers and their number (10824) corresponds to manufacture in 1917.

marcus C Stone [1840 -1921] contemplation; study of a young woman signed and dated ‘68 watercolour, oval 26 x 20.5 cm. Frank Harding Renmark, [Australia 1935-1990] was born in Werrimul, Victoria and educated in Eaglehawk and Redesdale, After leaving school he worked in a shearing team, before joining the police force where he rose to the rank of detective, resigning in 1975. He then embarked on a career as an artist, building a studio and gallery in Renmark. He held many exhibitions throughout Australia, England and the USA, painting in oil, egg tempera, watercolour, pen and ink. Harding had a scholarly interest in history and as a result of his research on the colonial bush-ranging period, he was made a Fellow of The Australian Institute of History & Art [1986]. In 1988 he began a series of aircraft paintings winning the prestigious Royal Australian Heritage Award in 1989. Harding was a self-taught artist, illustrator and author and those who knew him say he had a great respect and admiration for all humanity. Renmark is a town in South Australia’s rural riverland area and is located 250km north east of Adelaide on the banks of the river Murray.

P. Nichols Esq. MAYOR OF NORWICH ON HER MAJESTY`S BIRTHDAY, 1866 and Presented to her by the Battalion, length 38.8cm.
A 19th century Russian silver-gilt standing cup and cover, Assay master P. Dmitriyev, maker`s mark possibly CMP, St. Petersburg 1850, inverted pear form, lobed decoration with chased motifs on a matted background, the body mounted with four horse`s heads, the pull-off cover with a finial modelled as a seated Russian gentleman in traditional dress, on a hard stone base, height off plinth 38cm, approx. weight 26oz.
A late-Victorian silver mounted hard stone scent bottle, apparently no maker`s mark, Birmingham 1890, circular form, the front mounted with two colour hard stones, the reverse with engraved foliate decoration, with a screw-off cover and chain, plus another silver-mounted hard stone scent bottle, apparently unmarked, shield form, mounted with a crown.
