Three gold brooches, comprising a Regency gold memorial brooch, with a later cornelian cabochon to chased border, engraved verso 'Ann Fothergill, obit 12 Jan 1820, aged 74', tested as approximately 15ct gold, and two gold split pearl cluster brooches, both with later replacement stones to the centre, tested as approximately 9ct gold,together with a gold woven hair and paste cluster box clasp,tested as approximately 9ct gold,and a gilt metal garnet cluster brooch,(5)The cornelian is a later replacement, would originally have had woven hair to a glazed panel. The pin is slightly bent.The two blue stones are both later replacements to the split pearl brooches, both would originally have had woven hair to a glazed panel. The brooch with the clear blue paste has had the back of the brooch pierced out to allow for the pavilion of the stone. Some paste missing from the clasp, and chips to some of the remaining.
