A large modern Scottish castle dolls' house, MDF covered with stone effect finished, tilled roof, front and back magnetic opening, six rooms and tower with room, fully furnished in a 16th Century style with paintings by John Collins, nineteen handmade dolls, banqueting table, bench and two chairs made by Ron Crayston --52in. (132cm.) high x 37in. (94cm.) wide x 35in. (89cm.) deep - this castle was specially commissioned in 1996 completed in 2001 and is modelled on Wester Kames Castle on the Isle of Bute. Made by Brian Rumble of Rudeign Beag, Dundee. The castle is known as Beinn Na Rhude, Cross Hill, and comes with documentation detailing construction and also featured in Dolls' House World magazine April 2004
Anglo-Saxon, 8th century, gilt-bronze finger ring, 31mm diameter, D-shaped hoop expanding at the shoulders into a flat oval bezel with a recess for a stone (missing); the gilded incised pattern is interlacing over a veined leaf design. Very fine, olive green patina, small areas of pitting £200-£300 --- Jewellery from this era is rarely found in Britain

WWII interest: A Houses of Parliament stone jar with cover, the cover inscribed ‘This stone came from the Houses of Parliament’, with applied bronze roundel to body, 20cms high; together with a matching jar and cover, lacking roundel. Note: These jars are purportedly formed of materials salvaged from the Houses of Parliament, following German air raids on London.
