A mid-19th century continental ormolu and polished hardstone (possibly jasper) picture frame, the outer edge cast with leaves and flowers, the corners with acanthus and shell mounts, the striated brown and black stone with cherub mask mounts, on an oak backing, gross dimensions 53 x 42cm, inner slip dimensions 34 x 23cm (13¼ x 9") Provenance; Rushbrooke Hall, Bury St Edmunds Condition Report / Extra Information Ormolu good and complete, some minor dents to top and bottom but no splits. No signs of re-gilding. Grubby and with age wear. Hardstone with some fine cracks, mostly to upper left.

No hallmarks, we would estimate circa 1790-1820. Centre stone cloudy, colour fair, clarity poor. Small stones all complete. Weight 3.4g.
