Provenance: Retrieved from a pile of discarded masonry in a garden adjacent to the Fitzalan Chapel, Arundel Castle. Note: The Fitzalan Chapel was founded circa 1390 and is located in the western grounds of Arundel Castle. It remains the burial place of the Dukes of Norfolk. The Chapel was badly damaged by cannon fire when the Castle was besieged by Parliamentary forces in 1643, during the English Civil War.
