A spessartine garnet and diamond ring, the oval cut deep burnt orange colour spessartine claw set between trios of single cut diamonds to trifurcated shoulders and a uniform continuous band of white precious metal tests for 18ct gold, size Q The spessartine garnet has loupe-visible inclusions and some eye-visible abrasion and scratches, but is a pretty and interesting stone. The diamonds are small but give the main act good support and visually pleasing 'lift'; all the claws are secure and the setting sound. The ring is modern, perhaps third quarter 20th century.
