PAIR OF LARGE MEISSEN A LADY AND GENTLEMAN FIGURESmodelled after J.J. Kaendler, the pair dressed in 18th century clothing, the pair each holding a basket of flowers, each atop a naturalistic base with gilt detailing, both marked with factory mark in blue underglaze along with partial initials in brown underglaze, the gentleman with numerals 2868 incised in paste, numeral 2 stamped in paste, the lady with model number B.65 incised in paste, 45 stamped in paste, all under each base; gentleman height: 48 (18 7/8 in.), lady height: 51 cm (20 1/9 in.) CONDITIONThe pair appears in good condition. The lady with scattered chips to her left sleeve, flower wreath, ribbons on her hat.
