Decorated with crown above the medical cypher, with In Arduis Fidelis below. Holt & Son. Sackville St. London. W. marked blade with crown above Edward V11 on the reverse side, also ER.V11 in the guard. Steel scabbard with some grease covering and very little rusting evident. Two hanging loops and an old label stating, English Army Surgeons Dress Sword ED V11.

A 1914 9th LANCERS (POW) TRIO & CLASP etc. A 1914 Star with August-November Clasp, named to 4653 Pte H C Warr 9th Lrs. British War & Victory Medals named to L-4653 Pte H C Warr 9-Lrs. Private Henry Charles Warr went to France on the 15/August/1914, with his Regiment. He presumably took part in the last Lance to lance charge of the British Cavalry, 7th September 1914 at Moncet. Taken Prisoner of War, his medals and 1914 clasp were awarded 19/9/1921. Clasp 41630. Also the original 1914 Xmas Tin issued to him, or his parents. Photographs of Pte Warr in uniform, with his regiment in full dress and wearing his medal ribbons. Also photographs of Pte Warr in Germany in a POW camp and Germans including civilians, are with the medals. Family provenance states he made several escape attempts, during his incarceration.
