There is a fine diagonal scuff approximately 8cm long to the left side of the picture, and another small scuff approximately 3cm long to the lower part of the picture on the dress arm. The paint surface shows the odd small raised area, most noticeably to the top right corner. Examination under UV shows no obvious evidence of significant repair or restoration. The paint surface is somewhat dirty and would benefit from cleaning.
An early 20th century crochet dress, the blonde crochet dress in two pieces formed as a sleeveless boatneck top and a-line skirt, extensively formed as three dimensional floral roundels and sprays joined by mesh stitch, lacking original silk lining, currently in two pieces (at fault) Condition Report: The piece appears to have been made in two parts, see photos. The waistband is raw and unfinished where it appears to have been detached from the bodice. In worn condition but no large obvious holes or stains to the piece. All edges are unfinished with loose threads. See photographs for further information.
