Creasing and rubbing to painted decoration on the fan, reverse of mount possibly been repaired/repainted. Slight wear overall

Bensley [Volume I only], large folio (570 x 430mm) with numerous finely engraved plates (one with colour by hand, loosely inserted), including the full-length mezzotint of Linnaeus in his Lapland dress and 24 plates of botanists, tables/charts, Cupid etc. Later red cloth binding, worn, scuffed and frayed at edges, preserving calligraphic dedication to Linnaeus and Apology to rear. Mostly marginal foxing and soiling throughout. [together with:] Twenty-Five Photographs (Printed in Platinotype) by G. Watmough Webster, F.C.S., of the Life-History Groups of Birds in the Grosvenor Museum, Chester, mounted and prepared by The Curator, R. Newstead, F.E.S., [1894], Chester, large folio, signed and dated December 1894 in pen by Newstead to first text leaf; 25 photographs, each signed to the mount in pencil by the photographer Webster, interleaved with explanatory text. Scattered soiling and foxing, affecting margins only of plates, full green morocco, gilt lettering and ornithological decoration, scuffed and rubbed, paint splashes, edges frayed and spine detached at upper joint, marbled e.p.s, a.e.g. Five prints loosely inserted at rear; a rare book. A Victorian banded agate bead necklace with a matching pair of drop earrings and a stickpin, the continuous necklace comprising 73 graduated spherical banded agate beads in tones of black, brown and white, knotted to a green cord, the beads range in size from 8.2mm to 18.3mm, necklace length 56cm, the earrings are formed of two graduated banded agate beads with hook fittings, drop length 3.4cm, the stickpin is formed of a single banded agate bead, measuring 13.4mm in diameter The necklace is in good condition. The necklace is a continuous strand with no fittings. One small bead is drilled in two directions. The necklace would benefit from re-stringing. Gross weight of the necklace 272.6 grams. The earrings and stick pin are in good condition. Gross weight of earrings and stick pin 19.6 grams. The lot is accompanied by two banded agate beads with bail fittings and a single banded agate dress button.
