An original WWII Second World War Third Reich Nazi German Army dress dagger / sword with Portepee. The dagger having a steel oak leaf pommel and twisted ivorine grip. The crossguard depicting the Nazi eagle with downward facing quillons. The double edged stiletto blade is stamped with maker's marks ' Eickhorn - Solingen ' to the ricasso (Carl Eickhorn). Housed in its original textured steel scabbard with oakleaf furniture, two suspension rings and original porpetee knot. Total length approx; 40cm.

The dagger having white metal ball finial to the pommel and a carved basket weave wooden grip with 78th Highlanders regimental badge. The serrated blade with makers mark for Thornhill & Sons housed in a leather wrapped wooden scabbard with carved metal mounts. Measures approx 21cm.

The dagger having a shaped wooden grip with inset SA roundel and Eagle Swastika white metal emblem to centre. The crossguard having the RZM mark M/71 for makers Gebruder Christians Werk Solingen and the cross guard having a Gruppe initial Sw for Sudwest. The blade engraved with ' Alles Fur Deutschland ' (Everything For Germany). Housed in steel scabbard, measuring approx 38cm.

There is a very faint, small, white blemish to the right of the sitter's chin but this is hardly noticeable and not clear whether it is in fact part of the original design. Otherwise the work appears to be in good original condition. Unexamined out of glazed frame. The mount with some tarnish and general wear commensurate with age. The glaze with one or two scratches. Y Samuel Cotes (British 1734-1818) A young woman, wearing purple satin dress with white lace trim, lace choker, her hair upswept Watercolour on ivory, oval Signed with initials and dated 1757 (lower right) 3cm (1 in.) high Within a foil backed garnet border and a blue and white enamelled gold frame Provenance: Sale, Sotheby's, Amsterdam, Furniture, Sculpture and Works of Art, 15 December 1994, lot 212 (sold as Samuel Coates [sic]) Condition Report: Some very light spots of surface dirt throughout, and a more concentrated area of surface dirt to the lower framing edge, which has caused some discolouration, although this looks superficial. There are very small gaps between the edge of the miniature and the mount to the side (approx. 2mm), possibly caused by some very slight bowing but this is barely noticeable. Unexamined out of glazed frame. One or two of the surrounding garnets with some damage or loss, but this is very slight and visible in the online illustration. Several small flakes of paint loss throughout, but largely confined to the extreme edges. Under UV there are one or two very small (approx. 1mm) spots of what appears to be retouching to the sitter's chest. Unexamined out of glazed frame. The mount with general wear commensurate with age. Y Attributed to Andrew Plimer (British 1763-1837) A lady, wearing white dress and fichu, her hair powdered Watercolour on ivory, oval 7cm (2¾ in.) high In a gilt metal mount, the reverse glazed to reveal a lock of hair on a white glass background Condition Report: There are several spots of what appears to be a light brown substance to the sitter's fichu, and a small strand of very fine black hair/fibre has become attached to one of the spots - it is likely this could be removed with a soft brush.
