Confirmed U-boat Destruction and DFC action RAF Engineers group of four, comprising 39-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Defence Medal and 39-45 Medal, complete with miniatures, certificate of issue, various rank insignia and Engineers Wing, dress cap, Log Book detailing attack on and sinking of the U-241 on the 18th of May 1944 and later that week sighting of and attack of another U-boat on the 22nd May 1944, small collection of crew and other photographs and postcards. William Stuart flew as Engineer on the 18th of May 1944 in Catalina SJX243 which sank the U-241 North East of the Shetland Islands, an action for which the pilot, Flying Officer Brian Bastable, was awarded the DFC. On the 22nd of May 1944 Stuart flew as Engineer in Catalina MJX223 which sighted and damaged a U-Boat. 210 Squadron were credited with six kills between February 1942 and July 1944,
