Medieval Brooch. Circa, 14th century AD. Copper-alloy, 9.94 g, 31.94 mm. An annular brooch of robust construction complete with original pin. The ring has four raised turrets that would have originally been set with glass or garnets. Ref: Egan & Pritchard, Dress Accessories, 1150-1450. p.253.
Medieval Strap-End. Circa, 14th-15th century AD. Copper-alloy, 9.27 g, 64.13 x 36.69 mm. A large composite open-work strap-end formed of a large circular body, flared attachment socket and a decorative finial. A crude inscription runs around the circular body. Medieval Silver Brooch. Circa 13th-14th century AD. Silver 42mm diameter, 9.1g. An annular brooch formed of a plain band mounted with five lozenge plate decorations. Four have the same quartered design consisting of two plain lozenge panels and two containing cross motifs. The last lozenge has the design of four inward facing arrow motifs. The pin is incomplete. Carausius Denarius. Circa 286-293 AD. Silver, 19.5mm, 4.75g. Obv. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AV; Laureate, draped and cuirassed right. Reverse. VBERI(/V)TAS AV; Cow standing right, being milked by milk-maid seated left. RSR in ex. Ref: (Reece Period 14), RSR Mintmark. RIC V, pt 2. Recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database as FASAM-3D17E1. This coin featured in the Searcher Magazine November 2021 'Carausius and the milkmaid', by Dr Sam Moorhead and Lee Richardson. Dr Moorhead writes 'This is the first clear example of this particular variety, though tjhe same reverse appears with four coins which show Carausius in consular dress on the obverse. Three items of Biba clothing, two top made from Liberty voile ('68) , Karen Millen dress size UK 10, Margaret Cannon "Quarto" Hull Traders 1966 curtainsCondition report: Karen Millen has a few pills. Floral blouse generally good. Biba purple stripped has a missing button otherwise good. Brown Biba is bobbled mostly all over but ok. Pink floral blouse good. Purple Biba dress has bobbling and some hem pulls but generally ok. Curtains are good. Please see extra images on our website.
A 1950s wedding dress, duchess satin overlaid with cotton lace, approximate size 10.Condition report: There are stains to the silk around the collar and also the cuffs, probably from makeup. There are various holes to the lace, mainly around the hem of the dress and some on the front around the body and into the skirt. Some fraying also around the collar and cuffs.
