MEISSEN; a mid-18th century figure of the lady street cook modelled by J.J. Kaendler circa 1750, height 16.5cm. Provenance: from a private collection in Worcestershire purchased from Harden Antiques. Additional InformationThere is restoration to the base, the back of her dress and her right foot, also to the knife in her left hand. There are two firing cracks, but obviously these are in production rather than damage at a later date. There is also probable restoration to her torso and right arm. There is repainting and restoration to the simulated brickwork of the base, working into the foot and lower portion of the dress, it is impossible to get to the central bodice to really see if restoration is there, it does not show up under UV light however using the experience of how the figure 'feels' we are stating that there is possibly some restoration through the bodice.
