The vendor has provided the following information: The crest of Maxwell of Herries. This set possibly a wedding gift from Gwendolyn, Lady Herries and Duchess of Norfolk (she inherited the Scottish title as the 12th Lady Herries of Terregles in 1937) to her son Bernard, 16th Duke Of Norfolk, also in 1937.

(21.2 cm.) and 8in. (20.2 cm.) high; together with a Meissen figure of a Hunter, modelled standing, dressed in 18th century attire with green coat and tricorn hat, dog beside him, the gentleman with a knife at his hip, on a circular naturalistic base with gilt moulded edge, blue crossed swords mark, incised 780, Pressnummern, 8.75in. (22cm.) high, all with damage and losses to extremities, hunter lacks the gun and most of knife, chipping to rim of bases on all three. (3)
