Seams need re-stitching in places, minor. Faint discolouration on sleeves and skirt also has light brown stains towards hem and cluster of small holes near centre rear hem. Dress has been taken in at back bodice, minor - could be easily un-picked. 3 small holes at right shoulder.·Red dress - scuffing/piling to crepe and satin yoke. White soil mark to right sleeve and near right hem. Staining/watermarks to lower skirt hem area, not noticeable when worn and would not show in photos, only visible when dress is held to the light. Label is torn. Hem has been altered.

Lacking 4 pres-studs to front bodice closure. Front left geometic faux pocket has several small holes across central braid insert (minor). Occasional nick/thread pull to grosgrain (not immediately obvious). Most noticeable at rear hem. Silk binding to neckline needs re-stitching in places. Faint soiling at interior underarms, not visible to exterior, slight fraying to right cuff (minor). Dress has been enlarged at underarms but done at the time. Dress has been shortened by folding over and tacking in place a horizontal pleat at waist level - could be reversed if desired.

Two pairs of ivory satin pumps, the first c.1820-30, by Schenck of Germany and R.St Denis, 374, Paris, with chisel-toes, the remains of metal strip and floss silk embroidery; the others c.1830 with rounded chisel toes and large silk rosettes, and a fragment of similar metal strip embroidery taken from a dress (5) CONDITION REPORT: ·Schenck pair - lovely trade label, both with creased satin from poor storage. Left shoe is missing most of the silver strip embroidery from the toe, small rust spots in satin, satin on side is generally soiled in appearance, gold edging braid is partially detached, ribbon ties intact. Right show has remains of silver strip embroidery, lacking ribbon ties, gold braid is detached on one side, small hole in satin on side, satin is soiled generally down both sides above sole area, small vertical split in satin at heel. ·Ivory satin pumps with rosettes - rosettes are slightly crushed from storage, marked in ink to kid insoles 'gauche', 'droite', elasticated ties have lost their stretch. Nick to satin on upper edge, heel area left shoe. Very slight soiling to outside right side of satin also. Right pump - pinhole to heel area of satin, slight soiling to right outer edge above sole. 2 lengths of modern black tulle mounted with silver strip embroidered which was probably take from the matching dress, one panel is bodice shaped - very bright and lustrous
An ivory silk evening dress, circa 1820, empire line with puff sleeves, the bodice adorned with frond-like piping, triple tiered pleated flounces and piping to hem, bust approx 81cm, 32in CONDITION REPORT: White wool has been added to the rear closure to widen at the centre-back closure and there is also a wool patch to the rear skirt approx 5 by 8cm, both of these have mottled moth holes; 10 cm horizontal tear and crude repair to rear right side of skirt. Silk at underarms has perished within the perspiration rings. A few mainly small holes scattered across the skirt front. Small moth holes to rear left sleeve, slight fraying at right shoulder and rear right closure. Hem edge is frayed, revealing padding. Fair condition.
A Norman Hartnell couture chiné taffeta ensemble, circa 1956, labelled, in shades of yellow and green, the dress with cross-over bodice and bow to left hip; tent coat with slit to rear, bust approx 97cm, 38in (2) CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, very fresh. Hem has been altered to both coat and dress. Coat: sleeve dart has been let out by 1cm (minor). Dress: 3 small faint grease marks to right bodice (not immediately obvious as concealed by print) and at right hip also. Scattering of pin marks from brooch to right shoulder (minor). One light brown spot stain at left shoulder (minor). Faint perspiration stains at underarms which are very hard to see as concealed by print. Dart has been let out at shoulders by 1cm (minor), rear wrapover bodice dart has been taken in by 1cm (minor).
