A Mid XX Century Bicorn Royal Navy Hat, Epaulette's and Belt belonging to Captain Edward William Bankes (1904 - 1984), all contained in the original Japanned and initialled tin, plus an earlier Royal Navy officers dress tail coat, operational caps, buttons and epaulette's, plus an inscribed silver cigarette case, among associated items. *Captain Edward William Jervis Bankes of Winstanley Hall Lancashire, was born in London 1904, he joined the Royal Navy in 1922 as a midshipman, he rose to the rank of captain by 1945 with a varied service including time in WWII as the executive officer on board Aircraft carrier H.M.S Victorious, after thirty years service he ended his career as Naval A.D.C to the Queen in 1955.
