English school (late 18th century),A portrait miniature depicting a young lady in half mourning dress, by repute Mary Lady Price (1751-1838), wife of Sir Charles Price (1747-1818),Gouache and watercolour on ivory,Unsigned,9cm x 7.5cm,Oval framed and glazed, (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The miniature is framed under glass and has not been removed for inspection. The painted surface shows clean bright colours, but these may have faded somewhat over time. There appears to be a small area of dirt below the left eye. The frame is in good overall condition, showing minor rubbing to the gilt and the ebonised finish. Trevanion Auctioneers & Valuers do not ship items containing ivory outside the UK. Trevanion recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid. A buyer's inability to import these lots cannot justify a delay in payment or sale cancellation.The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory. A collection of oriental paintings and prints, including Utagawa Hiroshige's Fukagawa Susaki and Jumantsubo, No. 107 from One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, others depicting figures in traditional dress and landscapes, all framed and glazed Condition Report: Picture depicting an eagle is a period watercolour, not a reproduction. The brown marks are on the scene itself. Light surface marks present alongside this although these are commensurate with age.
