An extensive collection of memorabilia relating to Sir Norman Hartnell, KCVO, comprising an unsigned dress design; a collection of approximatey 27 Christmas cards of his own design and handwritten by him; four Christmas cards addressed to him, one from Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and bearing her signature with a photograph to the inside of the Royal Family above the inscription "V.E-Day Tuesday May 8th. 1945," and three from Queen Elizabeth II, one dated 1965, bearing her signature and with a photograph of the Royal Family to the inside; his striped cap by New & Lingwood Ltd; two cuttings of embroidered fabric, one framed and bearing his name and by repute cut from a dress worn by Queen Elizabeth II on one of her Royal Tours of Canada; various pieces of related ephemera including a copy of Sunningdale Parish Magazine, July 1979, containing a written tribute, a copy of the address at his memorial service at Southwark Cathedral, a country life advert for his home in Berkshire, and a magazine relating to the coronation and containing a photograph of the queen in one of his dresses; and a collection of private and professional photographs, (qty) Proovenance: Sir Norman Hartnell was a close family friend of the vendorCondition report: All looks to have been kept well but light condition issues to be expected of items of this age
Collection of 1920s porcelain pin cushion dollies, and ornamentsCondition report: This lot includes 15 half dolls, 1 ceramic female figure ornament and 1 female head (small bottle stopper) One half doll has her head re-glued, one has an arm broken off and missing and one has chips around the rim (see additional images). The others appear to be in good condition, some are a bit dirty. The ceramic figure has some flowers and frills of the dress broken off.
