British 1831 General Officer Pattern Mameluke Dress Sword by Wilkinson Sword Belonging to Major Thomas William Beard MBE Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters, Late Suffolk Regiment, Royal Lincolns and Anglian Regiment, fine example with gilt metal cross guard having crossed baton and sword to the centre, grip with gilt metal rose fittings. Housed in its plated steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Curved blade etched with foliage crowned EIIR cipher, Generals insignia to the others. Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the forte and the spine numbered “74465”. Some surface staining to the blade. The blade measures 83 cms, overall 98 ½ cms. This sword is being sold by family descent, please see the next lot for a sword belonging to him and lot 75 for medals awarded to Major Beard.

French Infantry Dress Sword, gilt brass folding guard with foliage, knucklebow with relief leading to brass top pommel. Wooden handle missing its grip wire. Straight single edged blade with central fuller. Remains of the etching to the blade. The blade measures 82 cms, overall 97 cms.

Very Rare WW2 Italian Naval Aviators High Ranking Officers Dress Sword, gilt brass large dish guard with Italian crowned fouled anchor to centre, Airforce style eagle head top pommel and white painted wooden grip retaining the original wire binding. Original officers bullion wire sword knot with blue fleck. Housed in its original leather and gilt mounted scabbard. Blade etched with foliage, trophies of arms and Italian eagle. Blade measures 77cms in length. Missing the securing post from the reverse of the scabbard and some splitting to the seem on the reverse of the scabbard but otherwise a good example of a scarce Italian sword.
