JAMES EDGELL COLLINS. BRITISH 1819-1895 A porttrait of Mary Wedgwood, she wearing a blue trimmed white dress and a gold locket and chain. Signed and dated 1863. Oil on canvas 30" x 25" feined oval (image size). Mary Wedgwood was the eldest of six children to Anne and John Hawshaw, born in 1838. She died shortly after this portrait sitting, on 28th March 1863, having succumbed to puerpural mania, fifteen days after giving birth to Cecil Wedgwood, later a partner in the Wedgwood pottery firm. Provenance: The Wedgwood family, thence by descent to the present owner.

A red satin Chinese dress with butterfly embroidery detail, high collar, mid skirt length with slit on right side (1980s). A black evening dress with sculptured bodice with a pleated design, the belt is attached to the dress and the fabric is man made, size 14 by Biba (1980s). (6).
