Unusual 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Officers Dress Sword, straight double edge blade cut with a deep single fuller, regulation gilt brass hilt with unusual elongated pommel (the same as used on the Household Cavalry full dress sword, Robson [1996 edition] Pl.114), and the guard made with a narrow inside shell so the sword will lie close to the uniform, reinforced edges to guard, silver wire bound wooden grip (wire present but loose), and retaining approximately 50% original gilding to the hilt. Generally good condition, requires cleaning. Blade length 81.5cms.
Cavalry Officer’s Dress Smallsword, early 19th century, possibly Life Guards or Russian, straight single edge blade cut with a single fuller, regulation gilt brass hilt made with a single side guard, mushroom shaped button, fine silver wire bound grip. Gieves trade mark to the forte. Blade shows surface staining and some pitting. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Blade 80cms. Sword housed in brown leather carry case, stamped C.H.ROCK R.N.
Edward VII Royal Irish Constabulary Officers Dress Sword, steel guard with crowned harp to the centre, leather covering to the grip, blade with partial central fuller, etched with foliage and Victorian crowned insignia of ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY, other side of the blade has monogram of Kings Edward VII, forte with retailer Jones & Sons Dawson St Dublin. Blade measures 82 ½ cms in length. Blade is dulled and uncleaned, some surface staining etc. Housed in its original steel scabbard with both attachment rings still present. Untouched example.

Blade with partial central fuller, etched with crossed flags, foliage, Victorian crown and Artillery piece with rearing Kent Horse over the top indicating use by an officer in the Kent Artillery Volunteers. J Wood Plumsted retailers mark to the forte. Blade measures 82cms in length. Housed in its original steel scabbard. Exterior has been painted silver and gold, possibly used at one time in a theatre, blade remains in very good condition however.
1897 Pattern Edward VII Infantry Officers Dress Sword, with large dish shape guard having King Edward VII cipher, steel pommel top and chequered back strap. Original grip retaining copper wire binding. Standard pattern blade etched with Royal cipher, Royal coat of arms and foliage. Staining and light wear to the blade, measures 81 ½cms in length. Housed in its brown leather covered field service scabbard.
1897 Pattern George V Infantry Officers Dress Sword, large dish shape guard with cipher of George V within, steel pommel and chequered back strap. Original grip retaining copper wire binding. Levee type blade etched with the initials “R.B.H” within a panel, George V cipher and foliage. Blade measures 81 ½cms in length. Some surface staining but otherwise good condition. Housed in its original leather covered field service scabbard, this shows heavy wear with sections of leather missing and damage.

Heavily polished blade, removing much of the original etched detail. Blade measures 83 ½cms in length. Housed in its original brown leather field service scabbard.
Post 1902 Army Service Corps Officers Dress Sword, swept hilt guard with etched chequered top pommel and back strap, original grip retaining copper wire binding, blade with partial fuller to the back edge. Blade etched with foliage and crowned ASC, reverse with monogram of King George V. Blade with some staining and wear, measures 86 ½cms in length. No scabbard.
George V Royal Engineers Officers Presentation Dress Sword, standard 1897 pattern infantry officers dress sword with crowned George V cipher to the guard, original grip retaining wire binding. Blade remains in near mint condition with nearly all of the original polish remaining, etched with Royal Arms, Royal Engineers and foliage. Panel to the blade etched with “PRESENTED TO LIEUT A. WALKER RE BY HIS BROTHER OFFICERS WAR OFFICE 21 SEPT 1910”. Sword is housed in its original steel dress scabbard. Overall a very nice example.

Scarce Post 1901 Household Cavalry Trooper’s Sword, slightly curved single edge blade cut with a deep single fuller and stamped with manufacturer’s small initials WSC and number A0096, regulation pattern hilt with crowned HC amidst pierced scrolls, buckskin liner and dress knot, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its plated scabbard stamped WS, broad arrow, 99, 973 6864 beneath throat, buckskin sword slings, fabric belt. Blade 34.5”. Good condition, well refinished overall for parade ground use.
Elizabeth II British Royal Artillery Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize Presentation Sword by Wilkinson, 1821 pattern officers dress sword with standard pattern guard, top pommel and back strap. Original grip retaining wire binding. Finely etched blade with coat of arms of Elizabeth II and Royal Artillery cannon badge, panel etched with “AMBROSE PRATT MEMORIAL PRIZE 2ND LT R P HARRISON RA”. Blade with Wilkinson Sword trade mark and spine numbered 96628. Housed in the original leather covered scabbard and complete with a leather storage bag. Some staining to the blade but otherwise very good condition. The Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize was awarded to young officers who have shown the greatest improvement in all-round officer qualities on the course for newly commissioned Artillery officers at the School of Artillery, but excluding holders of the Tombs, Benson and Earl Roberts memorial prize.

Blade shows some wear and has some areas of surface staining etc. Housed in its original leather scabbard with brass mounts, leather has shrunk making the mounts loose. Blade 79cms in length. Sword housed in its original leather carry bag.

Blade 82cms. Good condition, worn overall, scabbard with some damage and woodwork missing.
