ENGLISH SCHOOL, 19th century A portrait of Lady Hester Lucy Stanhope in Syrian dress, oil on board, 12.5" x 9.75". Lady Hester Lucy Stanhope (1776-1839) was the daughter of the 3rd Earl of Stanhope and niece of William Pitt. She died in the Lebanon in 1839. Provenance: Purchased from Indar Pasricha, 22 Connaught Street, London, on 20th January 1993. The Collection of the late William Gronow Davis MFH of King John's House, Tollard Royal, Wiltshire.

A pair of 9ct yellow gold oval cuff links with a monogrammed "FH", a further pair of matched cuff links, one 10ct and one 9ct gold, a cased set of six mother of pearl and 9ct gold dress studs, three other 9ct gold studs and a paid of gold plated studs with pearl bead fronts, combined weighable gold approx 26.8g.

A brass handled officer's sword with shagreen grip and in leather scabbard, the blade inscribed "W Parker Warranted", a further similar example, a dress sword with shagreen grip, pierced knuckle guard and in chromed scabbard, with etched decoration to the blade, also a Japanese wakizashi with bone and pen work handle and scabbard, and an Eastern decorative sword with inlaid ornament with wooden handle and scabbard (5). CONDITION REPORT: For postage within the UK, this lot would require much, and bespoke, packaging as we only have a few, set sized boxes. Were we to ship the lot the cost would likely be in the region of £100 + VAT. We would advise the wining bidder arrange their own shipping.

A small weight of costume jewellery including various necklaces, brooches and pendants, including two raw cut stones and an enamel and blue stone decorated necklace with matching pair of ear clips, also a hallmarked silver snap bangle with scroll decoration, a Danish sterling silver brooch and a 9ct bar brooch, a small collection of hat pins, also some cuff links and dress studs.

A 9ct rose gold mounted circular double sided photograph locket pendant with engraved tied bow and suspension ring, a further similar example within border of pearls and blue stones, a yellow metal oval example with border of seed cultured pearls, 4.5 x 3cm, a yellow metal mounted oval brooch, hand painted with a forest landscape, a Wedgwood blue jasperware brooch, a cameo example, and three further dress brooches (9).

A large 19th century German porcelain hand painted figure group depicting a woman wearing a crinoline decorated dress seated upon a donkey with her child and with three attendants beside a tree with encrusted leaves, on oval scroll gilt heightened decorated naturalistic base, height 35cm, illegible marks in underglaze blue to the back of the tree, with velvet lined oval stand (af). CONDITION REPORT: There are several and major losses to the leaves but most of it is present and needs regluing, one of the gentleman's finger is missing and there are some general losses to some of the raised points. Also probably regilded to the edge of her dress.

Two cased sets of Krementz white and yellow metal mounted mother of pearl cuff links and dress studs, centred with a pearl cabochon (one missing), a pair of silver gilt cuff links of hexagonal form and a group of various sundry mother of pearl examples, a group of tie pins including a gold example set with princess cut blue stone etc.
