Late Period, Ca. 664-332 BC.A bronze statuette of Sekhmet, shown seated with clenched hands on her knees. Her head is that of a lion with a tripartite wig and a sun disc above. The body is clothed in a long form-fitting dress. Sekhmet was the goddess of wrath, warfare, and plague. The statuette is supported by a custom-made stand. For similar see: The Michael C. New Kingdom, XIX Dynasty, Ca. 1290-1213 BC.A limestone relief fragment sculpted in sunken relief, depicting a couple. The woman is portrayed wearing a striated tripartite wig and a tightly-fitting sheath dress. Her left arm rests over her husband’s shoulder. He is seen wearing a broad collar and a short echeloned wig which conceals his ears. His right arm bent as he holds a fan or other symbolic implement.
