Bond, 45 Cornhill, London, circa 1840, 10in. overall, with three-stage blued barrel engraved with foliage at the muzzle and breech and with scrollwork and a martial trophy on the centre section, signed blued scroll engraved lock, silver-plated three-quarter stock profusely engraved with foliage, ram's horn butt with pricker in the form of a thistle, button trigger, iron belt-hook, original blued iron ramrod, and some original blued finish.

John Hoppner (1758-1810) oil on canvas, General Sir Patrick Ross G.C.M.G., K.C.H., seated in dress uniform, 40.5 x 33 ins. General Sir Patrick Ross, member of a famous Scottish family, of Lockhart-Ross, of Balnagowan Castle, Ross-shire. His family for generations had taken part in the Army and Navy up to the 19th century. His wife was Matilda, Countess of the Holy Roman Empire, in her own right, being the daughter of Count James Lockhart-Wilson.
