A small quantity of jewellery and costume jewellery, comprising two bar brooches set with seed pearls, a pendant necklace with matching earrings, a butterfly wing pendant necklace, a dress ring, and a seed pearl brooch in the form of a feather; together with a lady's 9 carat gold sovereign wrist watch with 9 carat gold chain link strap, and two other wrist watches. A Geo V 1897 pattern infantry officers presentation dress sword, slender shallow fullered blade 32", by Wilkinson, no 59925 (1924), etched with crowned R Arms, GVR cypher, wreath and "R E P from W S M 1924" within scrolled floral panels, regulation plated guard incorporating crowned GVR cypher, diced backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in an associated plated scabbard. Basically GC (blade minor pitting patches, hilt and scabbard plating rusted)
A Vic officer's regimental pattern mameluke hilted dress sword of the 18th Hussars, crowned, SE flat blade 30½", DE at point, by Hawkes & Co London, Manufacturers to the Queen, etched with crowned VR cypher, regimental badge with motto and battle honours "Peninsula" and "Waterloo", within scrolled, foliate, frosted panels, mameluke hilt with ornamental gilt crossguard and langets, a silver plated regimental badge and motto within oval on one side, ivory grips with gilt fluted strap and rosettes (one replaced), with gilt and crimson dress knot, in its plated scabbard with pierced, scrolled foliate gilt mounts; see Robson pl 82 and 83 for similar. Basically GC, the blade retaining some original polish, the gilt sound (one crossguard finial missing, scabbard plating rust speckled) Plate 6
A good Vic officer's regimental pattern mameluke hilted dress sword of the 15th (the King's) Hussars, SE curved flat blade 32", DE at point, by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London (no number), etched with crown in star and "King's Hussars" in panels, with owner's crest of a cockerel rising from a twisted bar, mameluke hilt with ornamental gilt crossguard and langets, ivory grips with diced panels and ornamental bands, gilt foliate strap and rosettes, in its fine gilt foliate engraved scabbard with cut out fishskin panels, 2 hanging rings; see Robson pl 84 and 85 for similar. A late 19th Century US officer's dress sword, shallow diamond section blade 28" with maker's mark at forte, ornamental brass hilt, with turn down shell bearing eagle on wreath and flags, knucklebow incorporating trophy of arms and urn pommel with eagle, wirebound leather grip, in its plated scabbard with plain brass locket and frog hook, and ornamental chape.
