French School, mid-18th centuryPortrait of a lady, said to be Mlle de Vaudreuille, half length, in a blue-gold embroidered dress and red wrapwith later inscription verso, oil on canvas81 x 65cmCondition report: Oil on canvas which is unlined and attached to a modern strainer. The canvas tension is slack and there are minor undulations across the surface. The paint layer has suffered from flaking and loss which is evident in the surface texture, mainly located in the lower half. Many of the losses have been overpainted without filling the lacunae. There are some areas of slightly raised paint. At the lower left corner is an area of raised cracking which is likely to be fill rather than original paint. There is abrasion to the surface in the background. The varnish is clear and semi-matte with a layer of dust across the surface.

Fine Art Deco fancy colour diamond dress clip retailed by Collingwood, the principal pear cut natural fancy greenish yellow diamond estimated to weigh approximately 1.2cts, a round old cut diamond estimated to weigh approximately 0.85cts, in a geometric lozenge shaped openwork plaque set with further old cut diamonds in white gold setting. 31mm x 18mm. In original fitted tooled red leather box retailed by 'Collingwood (Jewellers) Ltd, To The Royal Family, 46 Conduit St. W.' Accompanied by a Gemmological Certification Services Diamond report stating that the principal stone is of natural origin and fancy greenish yellow colour. Estimated total diamond weight 3.05cts.Condition report: The fancy greenish diamond measures approximately 8.8 x 5.7 x 3.9mm, there is a chip/indented natural on the girdle on the left hand edge (near the 8 o'clock position and a further one near the claw at the base/6 o'clock position. The stone has not been examined out of the setting. Gross weight approximately 8.2grams.

PAIR OF FRENCH NEOCLASSICAL ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE NINE-LIGHT FIGURAL CANDELABRA, 19TH CENTURYa pair of neoclassical candelabra, each nine-light candelabra is held by a woman in neo-classic toga-esque dress, with braided hair, standing on a gilt cube plinth with neoclassical motifs, the candelabra arms feature a cornucopia with bounty, five large arms feature a floral scroll with a small sconce featuring five more arms with a floral scroll. each candelabra sits on a larger cubed base that is black with gilt trim featuring a cartouche of a Neo-classical scene on gold square feet. overall height including base: 150 cm (59 in.) CONDITION In age-appropriate condition. Overall surface dust visible, most notably on the figures. Minor surface scuffs and scratches to the figures, most notably their shoulders. One of the candelabras arms is loose, visible wax residue in both candelabras and overall surface dust visible in the crevasses of the floral scrolls. N.B.
