An impressive Scottish silver military statue centrepiece Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh 1918, formed as a Royal Scots Greys Officer in dress uniform on horseback, the whole raised on a well carved oak base with applied presentation plaque figure 29cm high, overall 59cm high Notes: the applied presentation plaque reads `Awarded to Captain Walter Elliott Elliott MC RAMC by the Officers of the Royal Scots Greys, as a memento of their appreciation of and esteem for his unremitting devotion to the welfare of the regiment during the war, more especially in action when his untiring efforts and promptitude have been responsible for the saving of many lives` followed by list of Officers and involved in presentation. The carved wooden base which forms the largest part of this piece is of unusually high quality for such figures.
