Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Enlisted Mans Dress Dagger, good example with the original ebony grip having eagle and enamel SS runes device inserted. Nickel grip mounts. Housed in a repainted scabbard with plated mounts. Complete with un-marked (officers?) blade having motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’. Some surface staining to the blade and a couple of small chips to the grip but otherwise a reasonable example of a desirable and difficult dagger to find in the current market.

WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers 2nd Pattern Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn Solingen, fine example with yellow celluloid grip having the original wire binding still intact. Much of the gilded finish remains to the swastika in the pommel. Complete with the Luftwaffe eagle cross guard. Housed in the original scabbard with much of the original blueing remaining. Officers full dress portepee attached to the grip. Double edged blade with Carl Eickhorn Solingen makers trade mark. Some staining to the blade but generally still a very good example.

WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers Sword by David Malsch Sreinbach, good untouched example of a Luftwaffe officers dress sword with patina to the nickel silver fittings. Large sundial style swastika pommel retaining much of the gilt wash finish, blue leather covered grip with wire binding and feathered cross guard with gilt swastikas to the centre. Housed in its original leather scabbard with nickel silver mounts. Original leather sword hanger to the reverse. Very good condition blade with much of the original polish remaining. Lightly etched makers trademark which is classic for this manufacturer. Overall a very good example.

Sword has top pommel with sun dial swastika and sun dial swastika to the cross guard. Blue leather covered grip with the original wire binding. Housed in its blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium top and lower mounts. Standard blade with fuller to the central top section. Clear makers trademark and acceptance stamp. Some wear to the leather covering on the scabbard but generally still a good example.

Housed in its blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium top and lower mounts. Original blue leather sword hanger attached to the scabbard. Double edged straight blade with central fuller to the top section. SMF makers trade mark and acceptance stamp clear to the reverse side. Some light staining to the blade and some scuffs to the leather work but otherwise a good example.

WW2 German Kriegsmarine (Navy) Officers Dress Sword by WKC with Etched Blade, very good untouched example of a WW2 German naval officers dress sword with white ivorine grip retaining the original wire binding, gilt folding guard with anchor to the central cartouche. Oakleaves relief to the knuckle guard, leading to the lion head pommel with green and red glass eyes for Port and Starboard. Original wire binding to the grip which is loose in some places. Attached to the grip is the original Kriegsmarine issue officers dress portepee. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass mounts. Rear fixing locket catch. Very good condition slightly curved blade which has the WKC trade mark and also etched with oakleaves, battleships, sea plane, Kriegsmarine eagle over anchor to one side and the other side etched with oakleaves, battleship and the Kiel naval memorial. Some light surface spotting to the blade but generally a good condition example.

Rare Third Reich Hitler Youth Leaders Dress Dagger by E & F Horster Solingen, good example of the Hitler Youth leaders dagger with original wire bound grip. Top pommel with Hitler Youth diamond to the top, correct pattern cross guard. Housed in its black leather covered scabbard with mounts, the top mount having HJ style eagle. Excellent condition blade etched with the motto ‘BLUT UND EHRE!’ Reverse of the blade with RZM mark and code M7/36 which is the code for E & F Horster Solingen. Overall a good example of one of the rarest WW2 German dress daggers.

Third Reich Police Sword by Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen, fine example of an enlisted ranks / NCO’s pattern dress sword for the Police in the style of an SS but with the Police eagle inserted into the grip as opposed to the SS runes. Nickel silver plated guard and top pommel. Housed in the original scabbard with both mounts and single hanging ring. Standard plain blade with fuller to ¾ length. Makers trademark to the reverse. Generally a good example.

Blade etched to one side with steel helmet and German army eagle bordering inscription in gothic script ‘ Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit’. No makers trade mark to the blade. Some plating lifting to the pommel but otherwise good example.

Housed in its original scabbard with leather bayonet frog attached. Blade with etching to one side, having foliage and gothic script “Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit beim Inftr-Regt 41 Bayr-Ostmark”, WKC trade mark to the base. Some light areas of plating lifting but otherwise good condition.

A ‘Moon and Star’ diamond dress ring by Adler, 2000, composed of five tapered bands, the front set throughout with brilliant-cut diamonds in heart, star, crescent and circular-shaped collets, mounted in 18ct white gold, signed ‘adler’, London hallmark, ring size P. £600-£800 --- Adler are a fifth generation family jewellers. In 1886, Swiss-born Jacques Adler, after training as a jeweller in Vienna, opened a workshop in Istanbul, bringing together Eastern and European influences. The company continued as a family business over the decades. In 1970, the founder’s grandsons Franklin and Carlo Adler returned to their family’s historical roots, opening a boutique in Geneva.

Formerly the Property of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon A Victorian gold demi-parure, circa 1840, comprising a hinged bangle, brooch and ear pendants, of hollow form, designed as textured entwined knots suspending twin tassel pendant drops, contained in fitted case, ear pendants adapted with later screw back fittings, bangle inner diameter 5.7cm, brooch width 4.6cm, ear pendants length 4cm. Accompanied by the Certificate of Provenance from Kensington Palace, dated 13 June 2006, in original embossed brown leather folder. £4,000-£6,000 --- Princess Margaret was photographed on numerous occasions wearing individual pieces from this early Victorian gold suite as well as wearing the whole set together. One photograph with Mick Jagger taken after a Rolling Stones concert in the 1960s shows the Princess wearing the brooch to the centre of her dress. Unlike her sister, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who favoured wearing brooches on the traditional left, Princess Margaret followed her grandmother’s style and regularly wore them to the centre front of her neckline. In all photographs depicting the Princess wearing this suite, such as in the series of Snowdon family portraits from 1974, Princess Margaret wears the brooch to the centre of her outfit. In a slightly later and better known portrait taken by the photographer Norman Parkinson in 1978, Princess Margaret wears the tassel earrings from this suite together with the diamond and blue enamel bracelet she had received for her 21st birthday.

A gold dress ring by George Tarratt Ltd., 1964, the polished zig-zag in 9ct gold, maker’s mark ‘G.T.L’, Birmingham hallmark, maker’s case, ring size J-K. £200-£260 --- George Tarratt established his firm in 1913 and was joined by his son Ivan in 1936. During the 1950s and 60s Ivan worked with leading jewellers such as Geoffrey Bellamy and Ernest Blyth to create a series of in-house collections. This ring is similar to pieces designed by Ernest Blyth during the early 1960s.

BAKER JOSEPHINE: (1906-1975) American-born French entertainer. Vintage signed sepia postcard photograph of Baker standing in a full-length pose, en pointe, holding out her dress with outstretched arms. Signed ('Souvenir de Josephine Baker') in dark fountain pen ink to a light area at the base of the image. Apparently in some confusion as to which European capital city Baker found herself in, the entertainer initially dated the photograph at Paris, 1933, before striking through Paris and correcting it to Bruxelles. GOUNOD CHARLES: (1818-1893) French Composer. A fine A.N.S., `Ch. Gounod´, one page, 12mo, n.p. [Paris], n.d. [April 1851], in French. Gounod issues a pass for a dress rehearsal, stating `Laissez passer pour la Répétition générale de Sapho. Bon pour 2 personnes´ (`Pass for the dress rehearsal of Sapho. Valid for 2 persons´) Lightly affixed to a larger sheet. Small creasing. Very small traces of former affixing to the verso. VG Sapho (1851) is a three act opera by Gounod which was premiered at the Salle Le Peletier of Paris on 16th April 1851.

WELLES ORSON: (1915-1985) American actor & film director, Academy Award winner. T.L.S., Orson (with a simple drawing of a star beneath his signature), one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to Leonard Lyons ('Dearest Lennie'). Welles writes 'Mr. Sidney Kaufman, who wired me some time ago that he was interested in backing “CAESAR” - and mentioning your name, has fallen unaccountably silent. Could you give me a hint as to what this is about?', further stating 'I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your efforts in my behalf, but I'm afraid that with M.G.M. almost half way through shooting their version, unless something turns up miraculously and awfully quickly, I'm going to have to forget the whole project'. A couple of light, very minor stains to the borders and some light age wear, otherwise VG Leonard Lyons (1906-1976) American newspaper columnist for the New York Post where his columns, The Lyons Den, became a New York institution covering theatre, movies, politics and art. In 1937 Welles had co-founded the Mercury Theatre which opened on 11th November with Caesar, Welles's modern-dress adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Julius Caesar. Welles produced, directed and starred in the adaptation, which broke all performance records for the play.
