A rare pair of bronze figures, inscribed Faberge, dated 1912, cast and cold painted as A.A Kudinov and N.N Pustynnikov, personal Kamer-Kazak bodyguards of Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, in dress parade uniform with medals and order, inscribed in Russian on the heels and soles of the boots, height approximately 18cm ** From a private collection - The origin of these figures which appear to be the models for the well-known Faberge hardstone figures of the Kamer-Kazak guards of the Empresses is unknown. The figures are very similar to a pair sold at Sotheby's London on 1st December 2015, Lot 446, for £25,000 including premium. It is thought that they were made after the hardstone figures and possibly give to the Kamer-Kazak guards themselves or the young Tsarevich as toys.
