A German bisque headed doll, stamped "Made in Germany 2 ½", with open/close eyes, open mouth showing four upper teeth, and pierced ears, with composite jointed limbs, in cream silk dress, height 55cm, and a small quantity of vintage doll's clothing including lace edged dress, a further pair of children's slippers, etc. CONDITION REPORT: Appears to be a very fine hairline to the right cheek, not extending to the neck or forehead. Otherwise body and head pretty good.

Nathan Theodore Fielding (British, 1747 - circa 1814) Portrait of Miss Harriet Prestian, aged 7 (b.1786), bust length in a white dress and bonnet inscribed with the sitter's identity on a label on the reverse: "Harriet ... restian/born Feb 21 ... 1786 London/Painted by Mr Fielding/Stamford 1793" oil on canvas, oval 50 x 43cm (20 x 17in) Provenance: The Property of the 10th Baron Monson's Will Trust Nathan Fielding was born in Sowerby, near Halifax, and established his reputation as a portrait painter. His stylistic affinity with the highly regarded German painter, Balthazar Denner (German, 1685-1749), earned him the sobriquet of "the English Denner". Fielding was the father of the watercolourist Anthony Vandyke Copley Fielding (1787-1855). ex Sotheby's sale - Christie's stencil I 95 F ? Relined. Craquelure overall. Smudge mark to the left of her cheek. A few losses to the sitter's hair and raised areas of paint. Abrasion around the edges. Varnish dull and discoloured. Chips to the old gilt frame. Aged 7 ?

From the probable date of the portrait, circa 1720, the unidentified sitter is possibly the unknown wife of the brother of Mary Thompson (see Lot 607), having descended in the Anstey family; she died childless. Two Tibetan women’s finely woven woollen dress aprons, late 19th/early 20th century, the first with soft blue, pink, dark and light brown narrow horizontal bands, 36in. x 31in. 92cm. x 79cm.; the other a darker palette in shades of dark brown, pink and blue, 34in. sq. 87cm. sq. Tape coarsely sewn to both ends. Both of four widths joined vertically. Seams coming apart in places. According to the available literature, these aprons worn by married women were usually made up of three widths. See Hali, Issue 179 (Spring 2014) pp. 61-69 for an article on The Tibetan Aprons in The Karun Thakar Collection, written by Chris Buckley, where further references are cited. Attractive Tibetan woman’s finely woven wool dress apron, Tibet, late 19th/early 20th century 4ft. 2in. x 2ft. 9in. 1.27m. x 0.84m. The narrow horizontal stripes in a range of pleasing deep colours including greens, blues, pinks, yellows, mauve and black. Composed of six widths, each 8 1?2in., 21.5cm. wide. Remnants of blue cotton lining visible at top and bottom selvedges. See footnote to previous lot. Some wear in places.
