Cesare Lapini (Italian 1848- after 1893): a carved carrera marble figure of a woman, flowers in her hair with a bun and ponytail above a ruff collar, wearing a crucifix around her neck, patterned tunic, the dress with carved folds and star decorated hem, purse hanging to one side, on circular base, inscribed "C. Lapini Firenze 1881", 27in. (68cms) high. NB A very similar sculpture sold at Sotherbys, New York, 23rd April, 2010, titled to base "Margherita" and dated 1884. See illustration

JAMES HADLEY (1837-1903) British, for Royal Worcester, a Royal Worcester porcelain figural oil lamp Modelled as two children beneath entwined trees, she looking on as he dispatches a frog with a stick, with brass Duplex fitting and etched cranberry shade, moulded signature to verso and puce printed mark with date code for 1892, registered number 75408 and model number 1240. The base 49 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, some rubbing to gilding, chip to boys coat tail, boys leg restored, chip to girls dress.

1940's WEDDING DRESS. A 1940's parachute silk & lace wedding dress, 160cm & two veils. Sold together with a photograph of the original wearer of the dress on her wedding day, 15th July 1944 at the King's Chapel of the Savoy, The Strand, London, together with a letter from her grandmother, donating a veil for the wedding, which apparently arrived too late.
