Note: Most notable for his work as a lithographic artist, Brandard designed hundreds of illustrated title-pages for sheet music. The present pictures represent rare examples of his work in watercolour; it is possible that they were designs intended for use in a publication by Charles Heath who is known to have worked with Richard Brandard, the present artist's brother.
