ANGLO-AMERICAN SCHOOL, 19th century, a half length portrait of John Endecott, in puritanical dress, oil on canvas, 37" x 31.5" John Endecott (1588-1664/5) is regarded as one of the 'Fathers of New England' and was the first and longest serving Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Endecott set sail aboard the 'Abigail' on the 20th June 1629 from Weymouth, Dorset.
