An 18th century gold mounted ivory box, inset with a miniature portrait by: Gervase Spencer (c.1715-1763), of a young lady, half length, in a black dress hung with pearls, white chemise and a black feathered hat, signed with initials and dated 1749, on ivory, oval 4.7 x 3.8cm, box 11cm long CONDITION REPORT: Later mirror and relining to interior. Ivory doesn't sit flush to the gold mounts at one end. Splits to both ends of box - see images. No other major faults but the box has been restored: Interior has been relined and has new glass. The miniature and the box generally has been cleaned, scratch mark numbers to rim.
An Art Deco diamond and onyx dress stud set, the four octagonal buttons and dress studs with an octagonal onyx tablet to a bevelled edge and ridged frame, with an eight cut diamond, milligrain set to the centre, one deficient, all marked 9ct, together with a matched pair of circular chain-link cufflinks, marked 935 (10) CONDITION REPORT: One diamond deficient. One stud back a replacement. Two stud backs a little squashed. There is a box, although it does not fit all the pieces in the lot.
A cased set of six diamond and mother-of-pearl dress studs, attributed to Tiffany & Co, six mother-of-pearl buttons, each with an old Swiss cut diamond, milligrain set to the centre, with two concentric bands of white and gold dot enamel to plain gold backs. All marked 18, unsigned. Case by Tiffany & Co., 221 Regent St., London (6) CONDITION REPORT: All the buttons require cleaning. Under 10x magnification, there are minor imperfections to the surface of the enamel, small nibbles and flakes, but not noticeable to the naked eye.
