A 19th Century Meissen figure of a gentleman in 18th Century dress seated at a writing table composing love letter, bears blue cross swords mark to underside and incised No 179 and impressed Nos 71/63, 13.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The figure has a chip to the underside of his coat. General dirt, firing flaws, wear and tear conducive with age and use to include some surface scratching, wear to the gilding etc - see images for more details
19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Lady in blue dress", study of a lady with brown ringlets in a blue dress with foliate patterned shawl, her left hand bearing bangle with large sapphire, oil on board, unsigned, 63 cm x 74 cm CONDITION REPORTS She has various areas of touching up and restoration to the painting as a whole including filling-in of crazing. There is particularly an area to the left hand side of her ringlet to her forehead and to the right hand side above her puffed-up sleeve. The picture has also been re-lined. Generally crazing and cracking throughout and rubbing to the outside edges. General wear and tear to include some light surface scratches etc and dirt. Frame has chips, knocks and bruises etc all over - see images for further details.
AFTER DOROTHY WILDING (1893-1976) "Queen Elizabeth II", a photographic portrait study, black and white, seated in formal dress, signed "Elizabeth R" and dated 1953 to the bottom centre, paper size 66 cm x 51 cm (ARR) CONDITION REPORTS Titled 'AFTER' because it is a print and not done in the Artist's own hand. ARR stands for 'Artist's Resale Rights' - it is applicable. Image appears to be stuck on mount board. Has general wear and tear to include some discolouration to the ink. There is some small pinhead size damage to the mount board. Frame has surface scratches, knocks etc and wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for further details. The Queen's signature is on the mount, there is no Certificate of Authenticity - it is glazed
LATE 18TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Young lady in straw hat in silk dress holding a crook", a portrait study with sheep in a field in the distance, oil on canvas, unsigned, 48 cm x 39 cm CONDITION REPORTS Under UV a couple of spots are showing up including to the edge of the right hand and to the underneath of her same arm, a couple of areas on her skirt and a dark patch coming off from her right shoulder. Appears to have been re-lined and there is an edge visible all the way round the oil from the front and there is crazing all over. There are some white marks also on the paintwork mainly in the top left hand corner, in need of a clean, general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images
19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Young girl in white dress with blue ribbon, a large dog at her side", portrait study, oil on canvas, unsigned, 90 cm x 71 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has been re-lined showing considerable areas of touching up to the crazing all over especially top right hand quarter. Has signs of all over crazing which has been touched up as just said. Areas of dirt, some light surface scratches, this is visible from the front. General wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images including those under UV for more details. Frame has cracks, flaking, dirt etc throughout
AFTER SIR HENRY RAEBURN RA (1756-1823) "The MacNab", study of a gentleman in ceremonial dress, colour print, advertising Dewars White Label Whisky, inscribed "White Label Whisky" to the gilt slip and to the frame "Dewar - The MacNab Sir Henry Raeburn RA", image size 49 cm x 30 cm CONDITION REPORTS There is a mark where it looks like the print has slightly rolled over the top of the picture. Otherwise general wear and tear. Glass is in need of a clean both underneath the frame and outside it. Pair of Chinese early 20th century carved ivory figures of archers in full battle dress wearing armour and resting weapons, raised on pierced bases, 30cm high CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition. Small hole & crack to top of man's head. Possible cracks to man's cloak, see images.Height without base 26cm. Generally good condition. They are carved from one piece and are pinned to the stands. Some of the inked colour is gone or worn. Some small age cracks, particularly to fine areas of robe folds.Believed to be approx 1930's. Estimate time 2pm-3pm
