THE PRINTED INVITATIONS, OFFICIAL PASSES AND RELATED DOCUMENTS ISSUED TO A MISS THYNNE including the finely etched invitation to the Coronation of Edward VII, 26 June 1902 and Entrance and Carriage Passes, all sealed, with OHMS envelopes of the Earl Marshal`s Office addressed to the same, franked 27 May and 11 June `02, Admission to the Funeral of Queen Victoria and bound Order of Service, purple cloth gilt, Westminster Abbey and St George`s Chapel, Windsor, 2 February 1901, and various dress and other regulations Provenance: Wynne-Finch family of Cefnamwlch and Voelas, North Wales.++All in good condition, the named items apart from one of the envelopes mint and rare the envelopes perhaps of interest to the postal historian.

A FINE VICTORIAN PHOTOGRAPH OF LT-COL JOHN DOUGLAS three quarter length in full dress beside his horse, wearing the star and badge of The Order of the Bath (hung from his pouch belt) as a CB, THE Star of the Order of the Medjidie, the Crimea Medal with four clasps, the Turkish Crimean Medal and the French Legion d` Honneur, mounted whole plate albumen print, hand tinted, arched top, 27 x 20cm, in the original pierced and engraved gilt brass frame surmounted by the sitter`s crest and monogram, 48 x 37.5cm overall, engraved on the backplate ORTNER & HOULE 3 ST JAMES`S ST Col John Douglas commanded the 11th ("Prince Albert`s Own) Regiment of Hussars (Lord Cardigan`s old regiment) in the Charge of the Light Brigade on 25 October 1854. He died a Major-General on 10 May 1871. Ortner & Houle, Heraldic Seal, Die and Medal Engravers to the Queen and Royal Family, are listed in London directories from 1873-1889. ++A particularly high quality and large sized example in fine, original condition
