DAVID BOWIE - THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD LP (1ST UK 'DRESS SLEEVE' - MERCURY 6338 041). A superb original UK pressing of the iconic 'dress sleeve' The Man Who Sold The World (Mercury 6338 041). The record ('correct' Tony Visconti credits) is in Ex+ condition. A top clean copy, there are just some very light signs of 'poly bag residue' on side 1 - this is only light and will extremely unlikely effect playback. Elsewhere there are just a couple of extremely minor, faint and wispy markings. Matrix/runout: 6338041 1Y//1 ?420 1 1 4 & 6338041 2Y//1 ?420 1 1 1. The sleeve is in Ex condition. Notoriously hard to find in clean condition due to the textured nature of it, this is a top copy showing just some rather light ringwear and some minor edgewear.

Lot 6

DAVID BOWIE - THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD LP (1ST UK 'DRESS SLEEVE' - MERCURY 6338 041). Your final upgrade copy of the iconic 1st UK pressing The Man Who Sold The World. This here then is a stunning example quickly withdrawn controversial 'dress sleeve' released on Mercury in 1971 (6338 041). The record ('correct' Tony Visconti credits) is in Ex+ condition. A rather wonderful example, there are just a couple of extremely faint, tiny and wispy paper markings to the playing surfaces - with lovely clean labels showing a few light spindle markings. Matrix: 6338041 1Y//1 ? 420 1 1 4 & 6338041 2Y//1? 420 1 1 1. The sleeve is presented in flabbergasting Ex+ condition. Simply put in unbeatable condition, the textured nature of the design is in stunning order without any of the usual ringwear, rubbing or fading that is typically seen. The spine is also in wonderful condition too with just a very faint 'crease' (only just noticeable) on the bottom right corner (front). For this copy to be fully appreciated it must be seen to be believed!
