A Household Cavalry officer’s levee dress sword, c 1840, straight, fullered blade 33” (tip slightly shortened) with maker’s name “Andrews 9 Pall Mall London” in etched panel on one side at forte, gilt semi boat shell hilt (the inner portion of the guard officially removed), reinforced edge, upswept quillon, the guard screwed into ball pommel, silver wirebound grip, in a non matching brass mounted leather scabbard. GC, the blade retaining much original polish.
An officer’s full dress sword, c 1835, of the Life Guards, straight fullered blackened blade 33½”, gilt brass boatshell guard with long quillon, knucklebow screwed to ball pommel with prominent cap, solid section to top of silver wirebound swollen grip. GC the hilt retaining approx 20% gilt.
A Vic officer’s full dress silver mounted shoulder belt of the 14th (King’s) Hussars, gilt (dull) lace with central stripe on tan leather, border engraved mounts with buckle, tip and slide, escutcheon bearing regimental eagle with chains and prickers in mount with Royal Crest, items HM (or part HM) B&P B’ham 1890. Basically GC (few stitching faults, mounts heavily tarnished but evidently little worn).
Union Nationale des Societes de Tir de France, cast bronze plaque, signed H. Dubois, for Barbedienne. Uniface, the design shows winged figure carrying a naked warrior away from the battle ground, a burning town behind. “Honneur” and “Patrie” either side, top ring mount, 253mm, c 1894 GVF. A 2 part medallion “La Bretagne” in bronze, obverse lady in traditional dress sits beside a window, reverse Breton Cross Calvary, by Dufresne and issued by S.A.M.F. Each side is uniface bar four figure “4” raised to one side and incuse to the other which, when aligned show the medallion in usual style. VF
A framed photograph of a Warrant Officer, Coldstream Guards, in khaki service dress with Sam Browne belt and sword, wearing DCM, WWI trio etc, in a good quality desk frame marked “RC Silver Plated, Sheffield England” with a small tablet on the back “Carrs Silver”, and with an enamelled regimental cap badge on the frame at the top, 10” x 8¼”, signed “A G Steer Plymouth” on the lower right hand corner. GC (minor wear to right hand edge of photo).
WW2 British Uniform grouping to Major EN Liggins T.D. Major Liggings was a pre war TA Officer in the Royal Warwickshire Regt who later transfered to the RA. The group consists of a large named leather suitcase senciled to "Capt EN Liggins" containing his Service Dress cap with Bronze RA Cap badge, tailored by Moss Bross: one pair of Officers brown leather riding style boots with a pair of Spurs: one pair of RA pattern Officers brown leather high boots: 1941 dated small pack, 1937 pattern web belt: large RA pattern map case dated 1940: WW1 style Officers water bottle pair of ice skates: cardboard box for the 7.65mm Webley Auto pistol with instruction leaflet and cleaning rod: khaki wool sleeveless jumper (mothed): two Officers wool shirts, never worn, with five used spare cotton collars: One Majors slip on rank slide: Officers short sleeve KD shirt: two pairs of KD shorts: pair of KD trousers tailored by Harrods: named small brown leather document folder and a black Homburg hat.
An early 20th Century bisque head doll, incised "FRANCE B.F.B.J. 301 PARIS 10" and indistinctly over stamped in red "TETE JUMEAU", light brown hair, blue glass sleeping eyes, open mouth showing teeth, pierced ears, jointed wood and composition body, dressed in period red silk dress and hat, with socks and black boots, height 56cm approx, on a metal display stand. Maker marked Guant to collar dogs. Plus a Royal Flying Corps Sweetheart Broach in Sterling Silver in the form a RFC cap badge, maker marked "TLM" & "Sterling" and a period framed photo of the wearer in Service Dress with RFC Wings.
