Egyptian Ushabti Section for Tasa, Third Intermediate Period, C. 712 BC. A Third Intermediate Period mummiform overseer shabti section for Tasa.Clenched fists on the chest; each hand holds a whip. No basket. The single verticle column of inscription names the owner as Tasa.'The Osiris, Tasa, justified! This figure is an overseer shabti wearing a short kilt instead of the more usual projecting apron. This type of dress is seemingly only found on overseer shabtis from Tanis which might suggest a possible provenance for this figure.No other ushaebtis for this owner appear to be recorded in the usual sources. A dowel hole remaining on the reverse centre for attachment. One long dowel remaining on the reverse side. Wood stable. Typical style of dress for the Late Dynastic Period. 23cm. A post 1902 RN officer’s sword, straight fullered blade 32”, by “Gieves Ltd London, Portsmouth & Devonport”, etched with R Arms and supporters on one side and crowned fouled anchor on the other, in scrolled panels, regulation gilt hilt incorporating crowned fouled anchor, turn down inner portion which locks to scabbard, engraved with owner’s name “J.C Gascoigne RN”, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound white sharkskin grip with dress knot, in its leather scabbard with engraved gilt mounts and 2 rings. Circa 1920s Green and Black Crepe Beaded Shift Dress, the mid lower densely beaded in blue, green, pink, gold and black beads, further beading to the sleeve holes and neckline; and a Black Crepe Beaded Dress, embroidered overall with white beaded flower heads, the lower section with larger beaded flowers above an indented hem (2). Green dress - 40'' bust, 47'' shoulder to hem, holes near right arm hole, holes to shoulders, some mild/moderate staining, beadwork good with few losses. Black dress - 34'' bust, 43'' shoulder to hem, some loose beads and losses but overall fair/good condition.

Circa 1950/60s Evening Wear, including a Nola of Chester pale pink sleeveless cocktail dress with flared skirt, embroidered with lavender coloured flower heads and gold leaves with ruffled plastic centre; lime green and peach full length dress, capped sleeves, scoop neck, multi pleated stole style attachment to shoulder and waist, sequin and bead floral motif to bust; similar Marcel Fenez lime green satin evening coat, with wide collar; later evening dress with black velvet short sleeved bodice, sweetheart neckline and red spot embroidered net skirt (4). Condition; pink dress - 36'' bust, 44'' long, slight staining under the arms and overall. lime and peach dress - possibly alterations, side seam coming loose, satin shows wear, wear under the arms, sequin and bead losses, alterations to the seams at the back, 32'' bust and 55'' long. Marcel fenez coat - several marks to the satin, especially to the back of the collar, couple of small stains to the arm, lining split and slight discolouration. Red spot dress - 36'' bust adn 58'' long, slight wear.
